Day two of bow season and I should have stayed in bed. Another perfect morning- 64 degrees. Man! But I didn’t see a deer. This afternoon wasn’t much better. Temps in mid 80’s, not too bad for August. Actually pretty good I’d say. Not much wind but enough for one to bust me about 7:00. That was all she wrote for me. Got to be a better day coming up. Later…

Man, opening day was a bust, at least for me. Conditions this morning were great- 68 degrees. For August, in Williamsburg County, that’s about as good as it gets. However, the deer must not have liked it because nothing was moving. I saw one deer at a distance. That was it. I expected this afternoon to be better at least as far as deer movement was concerned. Wrong! I didn’t see a deer. Last year I was covered up with bucks on opening afternoon. Well, tomorrow’s another day. Later…

Well all you diehards, this is it – bowhunting eve! They say the only things for certain are death and taxes. I’m adding one more to that list. I WILL be in a tree somewhere when the sun comes up in the morning. The big question is where, and that’s an answer I won’t know for sure until I wake up. Actually it’s down to two stands and the final decision will depend on the wind if there is any first thing. You can be assured I’ll report on the day’s action. Later…

Been hustling to get up a few last minute stands. Hard to believe bow season opens Monday. I’ve got one more stand to hang. Found a great location today but I need to get the tractor in there for a little bushhogging. Will try to get that done tomorrow and hang the stand as well. Started feeding stands earlier this week. Big decision will be which stand to hunt first. It’s a toss up! Look for video next week. Later…
