Turkey season is off to a fast start. Opening day was on 3/22 but I didn’t hunt since that was a Sunday. Monday came soon enough as I picked up the preacher at 6:00AM and headed to the woods. Didn’t take long before we had ourselves a “double”! Had two come running into my jake decoy and the preacher tagged one and I tagged the other. His was the bigger bird at 18.75 lbs and mine was 16.25 lbs. The only downside to the hunt was my failure to get it on video- a rookie mistake on my part. Nevertheless we’ll take em!
Well, I was done until April 1st so I had two good friends down on the 27th & 28th, Jantzen and Jay Childers from Union. Jantzen killed his on Friday morning and Jay got his on Saturday morning.
