Managed to hang another stand this morning before it got too hot. I’ve hung six new Millenium lock-ons over the past week. Still need to hang a few more before the 15th. If you’re looking for a comfortable tree stand Millenium’s it. Sit in one and you’ll be sold. I guarantee it! I sure hope we get a break from all this heat. Later…

Wow, it’s hot, hot ,hot! I checked my hi-pro feeders this morning and found them pretty much empty after four days. That seems to be the norm for needing to refill. I’m feeding about 500 lbs a week at two feed stations. Still getting a ton of trail cam pictures but not seeing any new bucks at this point. In fact, I haven’t seen the split G-2 buck for a week or so. Went to the White Oak Club after lunch and did a little bushhogging. With the temp at 100 I couldn’t stand but a few hours. Will try to get an early start in the morning. Still have 4-5 stands to get up. Time running out- a little over 2 weeks to go. Later…

Man, it is hot! Reached 100 today. I’ve been putting up lock-ons for the past 3 days. Monday and Tuesday mornings weren’t too bad, at least early. Today was hot and muggy pretty early. Managed to get one stand up this morning by myself. Got one up Monday by myself and another one Tuesday with help. My surrogate son, Will McElveen, was off Tuesday and volunteered to help. It’s always nice to have those young studs who can do it all. I didn’t have to do much Tuesday! I’m going to try working a couple of hours each morning until I get all my stands up. Checked my cameras again Monday. Will post a few of those pictures in the Trail Cam Gallery. Later…

Been four days since I last checked the feeders. As expected they were empty. Had 650 photos on one feeder and 150 on another. Bucks seem to be showing up more in daylight hours now. Several small eights in the bunch. I’ve got to start hanging some stands- only 4 weeks til opening day. Maybe I’ll get a little work done in the early morning hours. After that it’s really too hot to be out. Later…
