Well, the season finally opened, quite wet I would admit. I woke up at 4:30, checked the weather on my iPhone, and went right back to bed. I was determined, however, to go out in the afternoon. I went to one of a couple of stands not under water. It’s one bean field. I knew there was a good buck in the area because I had a trail cam photo of him in the early morning hours earlier in the week. I really wasn’t expecting him to show before dark, but he fooled me. Just two days away from opening day of bow season. Got a good looking buck on trail cam this morning. Check him out. Looks like the weather’s going to be good for opening day- considerably cooler, but maybe damp. Feeding chart also looks good. I’m pumped! Later…

Well, things are looking up, on a number of fronts. It’s drying up some and I’ve finally gotten all of my stands up. Put the last one up this afternoon. Still have a couple of camera arms and tree straps to go but should have everything done by the weekend. Getting some good bucks on trail cam so I’m getting pumped about next Thursday. Later…

Put up two new stands today on some new property I’ll be hunting this year. I was monkeyed when I finished. Three more stands to go before opening day. I had a pleasant surprise today when I checked my trail cam at one of my hot spots from last year. The buck I played cat and mouse with all last year is back!!
