The chances of catching a good buck in daylight are waning. My experience in the stand lately affirms this and its backed up by what I’m seeing on trail cams. The exception might be in the case of late estrus does, if you’re fortunate enough to see one. There will still be some throughout the rest of the season but they will be few and far between. This has been some week for me. I had an experience Tuesday that still blows my mind as I recall what happened. I shot a good buck and found him, only to lose him. Unbelievable! Looks like things are starting to heat up. Bucks are cruising, showing little interests in coming to food except to scent check for a hot doe. Best time to catch a really big buck over bait may actually be around noon. I’m getting some new bucks on trail cam for the first time which is a clear indication the rut is on. Check ’em out. Later…
