The 2015 turkey season is half over and it’s been pretty exciting so far. I’ve tagged three so far, two with my gun and one with my bow. Gobbling has been pretty good with plenty of birds around. Have some good videos loaded on the site. Check ’em out. Later…

Well, the 2015 turkey season is open. I had a great opening day, bagging a nice 17 pounder with a 9.5 inch beard- super morning! Probably had six or seven different birds gobbling. Hope you had a great day as well. You can check out my hunt in the “Thunder Chickens” video gallery. Later…

You haven’t heard from me in awhile but hopefully that will change with the opening of turkey season in about a week. I’ve been doing some scouting and it looks like there are plenty of birds. Can’t wait! I had the pleasure today of meeting in Columbia with a couple of nice gentlemen from the House of Representatives re some deer bills currently making their way through the legislature. Looks like the turkey bill has all but been passed. Impact- annual bird limit dropped from five to three. My concern is the “one size fits all” approach to the new bag limit. My personal opinion is SC is too diverse in both habitat and game density for a single limit for the entire state to be the best approach. However, it’s a done deal now. The deer bill is still pending and hopefully some changes are still possible. I do appreciate these gentlemen listening to my views. I’ll keep you informed. Later…
